AUDITIONS!!!

Spark Theater announces auditions for Rear Window, the first show of SEASON ONE, Spark’s first full season.

Auditions are Sunday, April 17th from 5-9pm @SparkStudio (240 S Broadway, in the Imperial Building). Actors are asked to come prepared with a monologue appropriate for the show and be ready to read from the script. Familiarity with the screenplay is greatly appreciated. All actors will be paid a small stipend. No roles are precast.

Rear Window plays Thursday-Sunday evenings, July 15th through August 14th at SparkStudio. Rehearsals will begin in May and are Sunday-Wednesday nights only.

Synopsis: The classic Hitchcock thriller comes to life onstage, where audience members sit inside the apartment of LB Jeffries, a world-travelling photographer recooperating from a broken leg from his last assignment. While holed up in his studio, Jeffries sees the comings and goings of all his neighbors, and when he swears he has evidence that would convict his neighbor of murder, his girlfriend, nurse, and the police are all caught up in a world that may just be one restless man’s delusions. With glimpses out onto the bustling street below, the suspense builds to a climax that many argue is one of Hitchcock’s finest acheivments.
Adapted from the screenplay written by John Michael Hayes and based on Cornell Woolrich’s 1942 short story “It Had to Be Murder”
