A meaningful, thorough approach to using classical text, from the audition and beyond
Class description:
Understand the classics and approach text in a straight-forward way that connects you to the power of language. Useful to actors looking to engage their voice and body fully in the works of Shakespeare and other great playwrights. This intensive will use monologue and scene study to empower actors who want to take their understanding and engagement in text to a new level.
Thursdays 6-9pm
Length: 4 sessions, 3 hours each (June 9-30th)
Cost: $100 for the full 4 weeks. Cash/check payable to Spark Theater at the first session.
About the Instructor:
Charles Berendt has worked in Chicago, LA, and New York with some of the greatest actors of our time. Trained by members of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) faculty, Charles’ repertoire list includes all the great roles from the Shakespeare canon. His work is bold, powerful, and direct, and empowers students to connect themselves with the history of the classics.
