Welcome to Spark Theater, where we Celebrate, Ignite, and Excite our audiences with each and every performance! We’re so excited to be busting out of the Denver theater scene with Dangerous Liaisons this April. So, with so many awesome theaters around town, why launch Spark? Funny you should ask
I’ve always been passionate and fiercely individual when it comes to making theater. I often think of myself as an outsider. A musician/poet/artist first, but always a little wary of treading the boards in the theater world. I think from day one, I’ve had a unique perspective on what makes theater special, and a willingness to reinvent the wheel and discover the core of what it means to experience a show.
This all sounds kinda heavy, and yeah, some of the subjects we delve into onstage can be pretty intense. But it’s also fun, silly, playful, joyous, exciting, sexy, thrilling, dangerous, magical, sweet, and a lot of other things. For me, it’s like falling in love. It only works when you let go of the world as you know it and let yourself just feel! That’s what we want to do for our audiences, to make them feel alive and electric and excited about life!
The spark is the start of all that, the first moment it hits you, and you’re never the same again. You can’t predict it, and sometimes it’s shocking, sometimes it hurts a little, but it always wakes you up and makes you aware of the world around you. We want to celebrate that!
