The worlds of theater and fashion have been intertwined for centuries. The stage was often the place where costume de la mode was pioneered and how it was spread around the country. Famous couturiers have had a hand in costumes for ever, and many famous new works of the 20th century were costumed by some of fashions greats. Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga, Yves St Laurent, and many more. Even Miuccia Prada recently costumed a production at the Met Opera
I’ve recently been inspired by the early days of Chanel and french couture at the beginning of the century. But with Fashion Week in NY being so recent, here’s a few images to give you a teaser of the style for Dangerous Liaisons. (warning: fabulousness ahead!)
